Power projects of jammu and kashmir.

 Power (energy resources of kashmir).

Important topic for J&K Exams. jkssb , jkpsc

Jammu and Kashmir has abundant water resources and great potential for hydro power, estimated at over 20000MW

Of This only 10% has been exploited and efforts are being made to effectively to tap and harness the untapped hydro power potential of UT.

Despite the significant potential of hydro power and its benefits , it has still not been harnessed in a meaningful way due to   long gestation periods for hydro  power    projects ,     Unavailability of reliable hydrological data under projects offered , skewed tariff profile ,  instability in the political environment of   jammu    and     kashmir     and remoteness  from large consumption centers.
